2012 Year in Review- 1 week late

I cannot believe 2012 is over, mostly because I vowed to write my blog on the Roman experience before the year was out and well, needless to say, that didn't happen. Don't worry, it's coming...there were too many adventures NOT to write about.

2012 was an interesting year for me. I felt as though my life was moving in fast forward and I was unable to slow it down. Needless to say, this year I am focusing on slowing down a bit! There are people who need to be around others 24/7, but I am the complete opposite. I actually enjoy spending time alone and I get agitated if I feel like my private time is being infringed upon. One thing that most certainly infringed on my time this year was school. This was by far the most challenging academic year for me. At times I felt like crying or just giving up, and focusing on the long term reward did not help much.

This year I'm wholeheartedly seeking balance as it got lost in translation somewhere between summer and fall. It seemed as though getting my nails done or making it to yoga class was like trying to defy gravity!

So, here's just a few goals/things I plan to work on for the New Year:

  • Make it to yoga class more often. Not because it's good for you, or to stay in shape, but simply because I like it and thoroughly enjoy it. Which leads me to my second goal:
  • Do more of what I enjoy. I love to read and write, yet this blog has been abandoned for way too  long! This year I want to try to stick to the goal that I made two years ago and write at least one post per month. I also want to read at least 10 books on my bucket list..if i can find where that darn thing is..
  • Get my nails done on time! Nothing makes me feel sexier than when my nails are freshly done. No more chipped outgrown nails just because I can't find an hour to go get them done, I will make the time!
  • Add one healthy thing to my diet. Two years ago I added oatmeal and never turned back. I honestly can't remember what I added in 2012, but, I'm on the hunt for a new super food.
  • Take my vitamins religiously. This one is a toughie because I hate swallowing pills..but..I shall try
  • Weed out negativity. There are some people that come into your life permanently and some for just a season. It's OK to let go of the seasonal friends.
  • Communicate better, i.e. learn to be less blunt and use more tact.
  • Stop speeding. I could save so much money if i accomplished this..
  • Visit one place I've never been. 2010 was Tobago, 2011 was Mexico, 2012 was Europe, let's see what 2013 will be!

If at the end of 2013 I've completed at least half this list, I'll be a happy camper

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!! Let's make 2013 nothing less than amazing :)

xoxo
